Employers Must Use New I-9 Form After Dec. 26 or Face Penalties

According to a recent Federal Register notice submitted by the Dept. of Homeland Security, it will not seek penalties against an employer who used the previous version of the I-9 Form on or before Dec. 26, but those who fail to use the new version (Rev. 06/05/07) may be subject to all applicable penalties of the law, which include civil money penalties of $110 to $1,100 for each form not properly completed.
