The federal minimum wage is set to catch up to Hawaii’s minimum wage of $7.25 per hour on July 1, 2009. In the interim, those few Hawaii employers who are not subject to the state minimum wage law must pay the increased federal minimum of $6.55 per hour (from $5.85) on July 24, 2008.
