DLIR Has HC-5 Health Insurance Waiver for 2009; Wage Base Information Posted

DLIR Building The Dept. of Labor and Industrial Relations has posted the new HC-5 waiver of health insurance coverage for 2009.

Hawaii employers are reminded that any eligible employee who is not covered under the company’s medical plan must complete the HC-5 on an annual basis, as required by the State’s Prepaid Health Care Act. (Eligible employees are those who work 20 hours or more for at least four consecutive weeks and earn at least 86.67 x the State minimum wage--$628 per month.)

DLIR has also posted the 2009 maximum wage base and weekly benefit amounts for Temporary Disability Insurance and Workers’ Compensation plans.
