In conjunction with the new Family and Medical Leave Act rules which will become effective on January 16, 2009, the U.S. Dept. of Labor has issued a new FMLA poster that employers with 50 or more employees must display on the company bulletin board.

The new poster covers the basic leave entitlement under the FMLA, as well as the new military family leave entitlement. Of particular note is the section outlining employee responsibilities in notifying the company about need for the leave and providing supporting information—which does not appear on the soon-to-be-superseded original poster.
