DOL Wants to Know Cost Burden of COBRA Subsidy Compliance

The U.S. Dept. of Labor via the Employee Benefits Security Administration is soliciting public comment on the hour and cost burden associated with the COBRA notification requirements under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

ARRA requires companies with 20 or more employees who have involuntarily terminated employees between Sept. 1, 2008 and Dec. 31, 2009 to notify qualified beneficiaries that they may elect subsidized COBRA coverage.
