DLIR Has Furlough Day Calendar Until June 2010; Different Calendar for Other Agencies

Gov Lingle and HGEA Leadership

If you have regular interaction with the State Dept. of Labor and Industrial Relations, you might want to print out their furlough calendar to plan when you can contact them or visit their offices.

Since the settlement of the Hawaii Government Employee contracts, the State has released details of its state employee furlough plan. To minimize the impact on the public, most state offices will close all or portions of their operations on two specified Fridays per month. Where DLIR has its own schedule, other state offices (Department of Accounting and General Services; Department of Agriculture; Department of Budget and Finance; Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism; Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs; Department of Hawaiian Home Lands; Department of Health; Department of Human Resources Development; Department of Human Services; Department of Land and Natural Resources; Department of Public Safety; Department of Taxation; Department of Transportation; and Office of Information Practices) have a different calendar. The State Dept. of Education also has different furlough calendars for the schools.
