EEOC Issues Free GINA-Updated Poster

EEOC Seal

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has revised its “Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law” poster to reflect current federal employment discrimination law including the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008, which is effective November 21, 2009.

Those who have recently posted or obtained EEOC’s September 2002 “EEO is the Law” poster or the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs August 2008 “EEO is the Law” poster can print a supplemental poster and append it to those postings to make sure those are current.

Employers are required to post notices describing the Federal laws prohibiting job discrimination based on race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, equal pay, disability and genetic information. EEOC’s poster is also available in English, Arabic, Chinese and Spanish. Employers may order up to 10 free copies directly from the U.S. Dept. of Labor.
