Two federal agencies have issued notices of intent to conduct surveys; one on how the E-Verify program is working, and another on public attitudes toward people with disabilities in the workplace.U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has asked for comment on its plan to conduct a web- and telephone-based survey for information on “how the E-Verify program is working nationally and among a specific group of employers, to determine whether employers are using the program as intended, and to evaluate positive and negative impacts of the program in a mandatory environment,” the agency says.
The U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy proposes to survey the public on current attitudes and behaviors of people toward persons with disabilities. The survey will be conducted by telephone utilizing computer assisted telephone interviewing and will also solicit free-text comments from respondents regarding their attitudes toward persons with disabilities in the workplace, the DOL says.
