HEC Board of Governors Nominees for 2013 Announced

The Nominating Committee of the Hawaii Employers Council has filed with Corporate Secretary Sheri-Ann Lau Clark the names of 11 nominees for election to three-year terms on HEC's Board of Governors, beginning in 2013. The nominees are:

Kauai

Wayne Katayama, President, Kauai Coffee Company, LLC

Oahu

Peter Burns, Sr. Vice President, Matson Terminals, Inc.

Timothy Dietrich, General Manager, Mid Pacific Country Club

Percy Higashi, President and COO, Roberts Hawaii, Inc.

Gregg Oishi, Sr. Vice President and COO, Kuakini Health System

Chester Richardson, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer, Hawaiian Electric Industries, Inc.

John Schapperle, President and COO, Island Insurance Companies

Laura Smith, President and CEO, Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, Inc.

Mark Tsuda, CEO, Surf Line Hawaii, Ltd.

Maui

Anne Oishi, Vice President, Kitagawa Motors, Inc.

Hawaii

Glenn Hashimoto, Executive Vice President and GM, Suisan Company, Ltd.

In addition to the 11 nominees for election for a three-year term, HEC’s Board of Governors appointed Rochelle Lee Gregson, CEO, Honolulu Board of Realtors, to a one-year term.

The names of the Board nominees will appear on the proxy ballot that will be sent to members by October 21, 2012. Under HEC’s by-laws, other individuals may be nominated to the HEC Board if (1) the individual represents an HEC member located in a county with a Board vacancy; (2) the individual’s nomination includes signatures from at least ten (10) HEC members; (3) the individual is willing to serve on the Board, and (4) the nomination and supporting signatures are received by October 16, 2012.
