Reminder: Employees Voting on November 6th Might Have Paid Time Off

If an employee plans to take time off to vote on November 6 for the General Election, the company is obligated to provide paid time off if the employee does not have a free two-hour period (excluding lunch and breaks) in which to cast a ballot when the polls are open (7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). The State Elections Office has a factsheet for elections, including the paid voting leave requirement.
