The third annual Drug-Free Workweek campaign organized by the U.S. Dept. of Labor encourages activities to help employers understand how to implement effective drug-free workplace programs focusing on detection and deterrence, while also offering assistance and support for workers who may have substance abuse problems.
Employers can learn more about how to participate in Drug-Free Work Week and ways they can promote drug-free workplace messages — during the campaign and throughout the year — by visiting DOL’s web page.
Drug Free
National Drug-Free Work Week Set for Oct. 14-20
Businesses are encouraged by the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Working Partners for an Alcohol and Drug-Free Workplace to participate in the event, aimed at highlighting the connection between being drug-free and workplace safety and health. Working Partners has set up a web page with ideas for employers and employees on how to participate, including building and implementing a drug-free workplace program, and links to training and education material for supervisors and employees.
