Join us for a members-only wellness talk story session as Richard Mejia, Operations Manager at Times Supermarket is joined by special guest and former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Kendall Simmons. Together the presenters will share their personal insights into worksite wellness and Kendall will share his personal experience of tackling the challenges he faced with diabetes while playing professionally for close to 10 years.
The former first-round NFL draft pick and two-time Super Bowl Champion will share how his life changed after receiving the diagnosis just prior to his second year with the Steelers and how fortunate he was that the leaders of the Steelers organization has a personal connection to diabetes which allowed him to receive the support he needed to remain on the turf.
Participants will have limited opportunity for picture taking and possibly wearing one of Kendall’s Super Bowl Championship rings!

About Our Special Guest
Kendall Simmons grew up in Ripley, Mississippi and was a three-year starter at Ripley High where he was named District Defensive MVP and voted Clarion-Ledger Top 10 and No. 2 offensive line prospect.
After a stellar career at Auburn, Kendall was drafted by the Pittsburg Steelers in the first round of the 2002 NFL draft, where he played until 2009. During his days as a Steeler, Kendall started in 83 games and was part of 2 Super Bowl championship teams, including the Super Bowl XL season during which he started in all 20 games. Kendall retired in 2011 due to injuries. Kendall is currently a national speaker for Novo Nordisk and lives in Auburn, Alabama with his wife and children.
