About Our Presenters:
Ed Bray, JD, MBA, is the Senior Director of Benefits for Ross Stores where he is responsible for the effective operations, communications, and maintenance of Ross’ employee benefits program. Prior to Ross, Ed worked in employee benefits corporate and compliance roles for the past 15 years, including Director of Benefits for Hawaiian Airlines.
Ed was presented with the leadership in Healthcare Reform Award from National Healthcare Reform Magazine and has presented topics on HR strategy and compliance at national conferences, including WorldatWork and HR Executive.
Ed also shares his take on employee benefits developments as a contributing editor for Employee Benefit News and was appointed to WorldatWork’s national Employee Benefits Advisory Council in 2015. While in Hawaii, he was active in HICOMP serving on the Programs Committee. Ed is also an adjunct Human Resources professor at the University of California – Irvine where he teaches employee benefits and received the Distinguished Instructor Award in 2016.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from Providence College, Ed went on to complete his JD at the Western New England University School of Law and MBA at Auburn University.
Lance Migita is a Principal and Office Business Leader of the Honolulu Mercer office. He has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining the Mercer team, Lance began his career playing professional baseball in Fargo, ND. Upon retiring from baseball, he went to CIGNA Healthcare as a Senior Client Manager in the Los Angeles office for over 10 years. He worked with employer groups ranging from 50-5000+ employees with their health plan needs. He then relocated to Hawaii and opened a successful Insurance & Financial services agency on Maui for over 11 years.
