Critical thinking is the ability to solve problems effectively by systematically gathering information about an issue, generating further ideas involving a variety of perspectives, evaluating the information using logic, and making sure everyone involved is on board. On a daily basis, we are faced with situations that require us to make a decision or problem solve. Critical thinking ensures you have the best answer to a problem, with maximum buy-in from all parties involved – an outcome which will ultimately allow you to make sound business decisions.
Can you actually learn to think in a way that brings you the professional and personal success you desire? Yes, research reveals highly effective thinkers are made and not born. This course is designed to help you become that highly effective thinker.
During this session, you will:
- Define critical thinking.
- Determine your preferred thinking style.
- Learn and practice a 3-step critical thinking model designed to use your preferred thinking style more effectively. The 3-step model includes:
- Recognize assumptions
- Evaluate arguments
- Draw conclusions
- Develop a plan of action to put into practice the thinking skills you learn.
