About Our Speaker:
Christine Belcaid represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law as a Senior Associate at Torkildson, Katz, Hetherington, Harris & Knorek, where she has worked since 2013. Her main areas of practice include defending unfair labor practices before the NLRB, countering union organizing efforts, labor arbitration, conducting workplace investigations, and defending employers before the state and federal employment discrimination agencies. In addition, Christine litigates discrimination, retaliation, and wage/hour cases, as well as counsels employers in all areas affecting human resource management, including by drafting and revising employee handbooks. She also has significant experience with FLSA collective actions, tip pooling, and tip credit, and with occupational safety and health matters.
Christine received a B.S. from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 1999, where she graduated in the top nine percent of her class, and her law degree from Boston University School of Law, where she founded the school's participation in the American Bar Association's Arbitration Competition. Prior to law school, Christine worked primarily in the hospitality and real estate industries. During law school, Christine interned with the National Labor Relations Board, New Hampshire Legal Aid, and Harvard University's Office of Labor and Employee Relations in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
