Join Tom Yamachika, President of the Tax Foundation of Hawaii, and Brooke Tongg, Associate General Counsel of Hawaii Employers Council, as they review employment-related bills, tax bills and other bills of interest recently approved during the 2025 legislative session that may impact your organization.  

About the Speakers:

Tom Yamachika is the President of the Tax Foundation of Hawaii, a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving as a watchdog organization to keep tabs on State of Hawaii finances and the various means the State and Counties use to obtain revenues from individuals and businesses.  

Tom is a tax attorney in solo practice since early 2013. Prior to 2013, he was in large accounting firms and in the mid-1990’s worked for the Hawaii Department of Taxation.

Brooke Tongg provides legal support to the Council and manages its team of HR Consultants. Brooke is an eighteen year attorney with experience in HR, labor and employment law and joined HEC in 2023.
