Finance as a Second Language® for HR Officers is designed specifically for CHROs and Senior HR Officers who hold decision-making roles within their organizations and HR leaders ready to move into senior HR positions. Due to limited enrollment capacity and to ensure the content aligns with the needs of participants, HEC reserves the right to confirm that each participant holds an appropriate title or role. If it is determined that the participant’s title or role may not be suited for this session, HEC may recommend alternative resources or training options better aligned with their professional development needs.
Special Gift to Each Participant:
Enjoy free, individualized one-on-one coaching sessions with Toshi—once a month for three months beginning in October. In these one-on-one sessions, Toshi will provide personalized coaching on any financial challenges that you may encounter after you’ve completed the program. These one-on-one meetings ensure that the knowledge you gain in the program can be effectively applied to your day-to-day activities.
About the Speaker:
For 34 years, Toshi Shibano has dedicated his career to training thousands of senior corporate managers worldwide on six continents and 22 countries for hundreds of Fortune 500 companies such as GE (for 21 years), Siemens, Adobe, and Longs Drugs as well as local companies such as American Savings Bank (for 13 years) and Hawaiian Electric. Toshi was a professor for 29 years in business school faculties at Stanford, Berkeley, Columbia, Chicago, INSEAD (France), and the Australian Graduate School of Management. Toshi holds a PhD from Stanford Business School (Merit Scholar) and an MBA from Berkeley Haas Business School (Beta Gamma Sigma). Toshi is a graduate of Baldwin High School on Maui and served as President of the Hawaii State Student Council (HSSC).

Important Notice: ETF Subsidy Application Deadline Has Passed
Thank you for your interest in Finance as a Second Language® for HR Officers - 6-Part Series. Please note that the deadline to apply for the State of Hawaii Employment & Training Fund (ETF) subsidy has passed as of July 30, 2025. While ETF funds are no longer available for this series, you are still welcome to register and attend the courses at the regular rate.
HEC Members: $2,500.00
Non-Members: $3,500.00

Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel up to seven (7) days before the first day of the series, you will receive the 50% amount already paid will be reimbursed in the original form of payment.
If you cancel within seven (7) days of the start of the series, you will receive a credit for the 50% amount already paid. This credit can be applied to any future HEC training/course within the same calendar year.
