OSHA launches "Worker Safety in Hospitals" Website

Posted Thursday, January 23, 2014 6:23 pm

The United States Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently launched a website containing resources to help hospitals assess safety issues, and implement or enhance initiatives to improve worker safety.  Noting that hospitals have a high rate of work-related injuries when compared with other industries, the website provides tools and resources on safe patient handling, a job duty that often leads to a significant number of worker injuries.  Included among those tools is a checklist for creating a safe patient handling program.  For more information, visit the OSHA website.
