Ceridian Offers Advice on Dealing with Organizational Change

Posted Monday, January 2, 2017 2:55 pm
Change, and the uncertainty of the unknown that comes along with it, can be challenging for employers to deal with.  The key for leaders in dealing with change is communication.  Management can "[h]elp employees become agents of the change by focusing on three foundational elements of change management: acceptance, transparency and engagement."

  • Acceptance: Explain the reasons for the change and its positive impact on the company and staff.

  • Transparency: Foster transparency by appointing an executive as the "face" of the change and creating a timeline of milestones that are communicated to employees.  Over communication should not be feared.

  • Engagement: Build employee engagement by encouraging employee participation in the process and by publishing plans, project updates and other documents that staff can easily view.
