Legislative Update:  First Crossover

The Hawaii State Legislature just passed the First Crossover deadline for the 2019 legislative session.  This is the deadline by which all bills must be approved by an originating chamber and passed onto the other chamber for consideration.  Any bill that survived the First Crossover deadline still has the potential to be become law.

This year, lawmakers have tackled a variety of employment-related issues, including minimum wage, sexual harassment, equal pay and pay transparency, employment discrimination, and the Hawaii Family Leave Law.  HEC has created two reports discussing which measures are still alive:
