3 Questions with Clayton Kamida - Helping Local Employers Gain Insight on How Best to Move Forward

Posted Monday, July 6, 2020

In the July 3, 2020 issue of Pacific Business News, Clayton Kamida, president and CEO of Hawaii Employers Council, discusses trends related to recruitment practices, primary issues that Hawaii Employers Council is advising Hawaii’s employers on, and what companies should be concerned about becoming new possible liabilities during the pandemic.

In the article Kamida called the pandemic’s effect on Hawaii employers “devastating,” but also said that he’s been surprised by how quickly employers have adapted to telecommuting, virtual meetings, and “doing more with less.”  “Employers and HR professionals have very quickly developed, albeit out of necessity, new skills and new ways of managing which will help them thrive in the future,” Kamida said.
