The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently announced the schedule for the 2023 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection reporting period, expected to commence on April 30, 2024, and conclude on June 4, 2024.
Last year’s EEO-1 reporting period just ended in January 2024, so this announcement may come as a surprise. Employers required to file EEO-1 reports should note these upcoming dates:
- March 19, 2024: Posting of the 2023 EEO-1 Instruction Booklet and Data File Upload Specifications.
- April 30, 2024: Availability of the EEOC’s online Filer Support Message Center to assist employers with questions.
- April 30, 2024 - June 4, 2024: Data collection period.
Please visit the EEOC’s 2023 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection website for more information and updates: https://www.eeocdata.org/eeo1.
For your reference, generally, private employers who employ at least 100 employees and federal contractors who employ at least 50 employees must report employee data, including employee’s job categories, race/ethnicity, and gender, annually with the EEOC.
