We are hosting a special in-person experience of our popular Fundamentals of Supervision series! Register for the full series or by day to build practical supervision skills, connect with other professionals, and learn in an engaging, collaborative environment.

Course 7: Building Employee Performance (FOS 7):

Wednesday, July 22, 2026 | 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
This class focuses on providing supervisors with practical tools they can use to not only build but also maintain and grow employee performance. Topics discussed will include the benefits of managing performance, what challenges employees might face with performance, and how to effectively manage performance.

  • Understand the importance of investing in employee performance
  • Learn how to clarify expectations and create performance standards
  • Learn about S.M.A.R.T. Goals
  • Learn the art of Positive Discipline
  • Create a structure of support for your employees

 

Course 8: Appraising Performance: An Ongoing Process (FOS 8):

Wednesday, July 22, 2026 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Lunch will be provided)

This course expands from the Building Employee Performance course to instruct supervisors on how to appraise the performance that they have invested in managing. Attendees will learn the logistics behind measuring and evaluating performance by finding evidence of performance through an understanding of job duties and responsibilities, how to effectively prepare and conduct the appraisal meeting, as well as how to provide the sort of feedback and development plans that will motivate employees to realize their potential.

  • Review the performance appraisal process and its benefits
  • Understand how performance is measured and evaluated
  • Learn how to prepare for and conduct the performance appraisal meeting
  • Discuss how to provide positive and developmental feedback
  • Determine how to make decisions to develop future performance

*Attend by Day (2 Courses, AM/PM)
Member price for both courses: $130 per person
Non-Member price for both courses: $270 per person
Bulk discounts available for HEC members with 10 or more registrations.

*Lunch will be provided. You will have the option to select a vegetarian meal during registration.

Digital Certificates of Completion and Badges

Learners who complete all courses in this series within a 12-month period will receive a digital Certificate of Completion and badge to celebrate their achievement. By registering for this series, you agree to allow HEC to release your name and email address to a third-party digital credentialing service (Certifier) to issue your certificate and badge to you via email. If you do not want a Certificate of Completion or badge, please send notification to [email protected] prior to completing the final course in the series.

           
(The digital Certificate of Completion and badge are only given to those who completed all 8 courses in the series within an 1-year period of time.)

     *Click “Register,” scroll to the bottom, choose your lunch option, click “Save,” and confirm your registration.

Registration Deadline:

Registration will close at 6:30 AM on the day before the start of the series.

Cancellation and Class Switching Policy:

Cancellations must be made 7 days before the class date to receive a refund. 
There will be no refunds for No Shows.
