Nakamura is the Administrator of the City and County of Honolulu’s WorkHawaii Division, where she leads strategic efforts to advance workforce development and housing assistance programs that serve diverse and underserved populations. With 32 years of professional experience, she has successfully guided large-scale initiatives through policy development, program implementation, and cross-sector collaboration.

Leina’ala is a recognized leader known for her ability to build and motivate high-performing teams, manage multi-million-dollar federal and city-funded programs, and foster partnerships that bridge government, nonprofit, and business sectors. Her leadership is rooted in a strong commitment to equity, service, and results-driven impact.
