New Law imposes Additional Requirements regarding Employee Paystubs and Payroll Recordkeeping

On April 30, 2013, Governor Neil Abercrombie signed SB 332 HD2 into law, which became Act 70, Session Laws of Hawaii ("SLH") 2013.

 

This new law takes effect on January 1, 2014, and will impose additional requirements on employers regarding (a) the type of information that must be provided to employees on their pay stubs and (b) payroll records that must be maintained on the employer's premises. Act 70 takes effect on January 1, 2014, and employers are well-advised to begin planning to comply with these requirements now. Read more.
