The 2013 Legislative Session officially ended when the Governor's veto deadline passed on July 9.
Members should be aware of a few employment bills that became law, including those addressing issues such as (1) the notice period for hearings before the unemployment insurance appeals office; (2) pay records and pay stubs; (3) a study of and possible revisions to the state workers' compensation medical fee schedule; (4) the state's definition of a "small employer" for purposes of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; and (5) employees' rights to express breast milk in the workplace.
