Skills shortage and leadership development problems need new solutions, according to a 2014 Human Capital Trends survey published by Deloitte and featured in CCH Daily Document Update. More than thirty percent of business executives surveyed reported that their HR programs were just "getting by" or "underperforming," and only thirteen percent of organizations responded that they do an excellent job developing leaders. One approach to addressing this issue would be for HR professionals to work to improve their analytics capabilities. Almost seventy percent of surveyed professionals rated themselves as "weak" at using HR data in workforce planning and management efforts, and developing the skillset to better capture and utilize this information may provide useful insight into new performance management strategies.
