If you have attended an HEC seminar or consulted with one of the Council's HR consultants, you have likely been reminded of the importance of periodically auditing and updating your organization's hiring practices and forms to streamline efficiency in recruiting and ensure legal compliance. Another component of this process review that is often overlooked is the periodic evaluation of the efficacy of your organization's onboarding process. During the month of June, we recommend that you devote some time to this issue and have provided several resources, including an updated Guide to Preparing a New Hire Orientation Program, a New Hire Checklist, as well as forms on employment history records and reference checks, information on Fair Credit Reporting Act Compliance in the Hiring Process, for members to use in reviewing their hiring and onboarding practices.
