Learn Best Practices for Reducing Workers' Compensation Claim Liability at HEC on June 12

Published Thursday, May 29, 2014 7:35 pm

Managing workers' compensation claims and minimizing the impact of related absences on operations can be challenging.  This morning program will expose participants to best practices in handling these claims to reduce liability and encourage timely return to work.  With a specialization in workers' compensation law, attorney Nathalie Pettit will present practical tips on a range of topics, including establishing safe work practices and mandatory injury reporting, whether to deny liability pending investigation, proper investigation and documentation techniques, whether to consider third party and Special Compensation Fund liability, work injury discrimination claims, light duty and other return to work issues, claim hearings and settlement options.  The session, which will be held in HEC's Kahili Meeting Room, will also feature information on how any legislative changes resulting from the 2014 session will impact the administration of workers' compensation claims moving forward.
