Employers should embrace the concept of workplace flexibility, according to 89% of more than 4,000 adults surveyed by The Harris Poll in May. More than half of respondents said that they would be able to do their job better if they were allowed a more flexible work schedule, and 21% of surveyed workers stated that they were passed up for a promotion, raise, or new job at some point due to a need for workplace flexibility. This data suggests that employers who continue to set rigid schedule expectations for workers may miss out. "Workplace flexibility has moved from a niche concern to a mainstream reality," says Karen Kornbluh, Executive Vice President of External Affairs at Nielsen. "Men, women, parents, Millennials are all interested ? if it makes business sense ? and employers seem to be responding." Source: CCH Daily Document Update
