Island Insurance, Hawaii's largest locally owned property & casualty insurance carrier, has appointed HEC board member John Schapperle as Chief Executive Officer.  With more than 40 years' experience in the property and casualty insurance industry including personal and commercial lines, carrier and agency, insurance and reinsurance experience, Schapperle will continue his current responsibilities as President along with his expanded role as CEO.
