Hawaii employers are required by federal and state laws to notify their employees of their rights by clearly displaying official labor and employment notices at each of their work locations.  Companies are advised to maintain a bulletin board at each worksite that is conspicuous and accessible to all employees upon which all required posters may be maintained.  HEC's "Guide to Required Bulletin Board Posters and Notices," which is available on our website, provides additional information regarding the required posters and the covered employers.

Members should note that certain additional posting requirements may apply to them.  For example, posters may be required for employers covered by the Hawaii Wage and Hour Regulation of Public Contracts ? "Little Davis-Bacon Act."  Employers covered by the Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, Railway Labor Act, Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, or other Executive Orders may also be required to post other notices.  More information on those notices may be obtained from the National Mediation Board (Railway Labor Act only), and the U.S. Department of Labor's FirstStep Poster Advisor at www.dol.gov/elaws/posters.htm.
