The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Hawaii Regional Network is hosting an informational event for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander employers and business leaders on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. This event will focus on creating opportunities to build sustainable workforces by identifying common barriers to employment including affordable and safe worker housing options and transportation, as well as workforce training and economic development initiatives.
Running from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the program will occur at the Natural Energy Laboratories of Hawaii, Gateway Building, in Kailua-Kona. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of Agriculture ? Rural Development, U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, State Department of Labor and Industrial relations, and more.
