Recognizing that grievance arbitration is only the tip of the iceberg, the American Arbitration Association will present a program called "Trouble in Paradise!  Dealing with Workplace Investigations and Performance Issues" in November.  HEC is co-sponsoring the two-day session on investigations of possible contract violations as well as disciplinary and performance issues, which will be held at the Hawaii State Teachers Association on November 12 and 13, 2015.The program will be led by Howell L. Lankford (AAA Arbitrator and Member, National Academy of Arbitrators) and Todd A. Lyon (Partner with Fisher & Phillips LLP).  Participants will learn insights on topics ranging from common errors and omissions of investigations to challenging and defending evaluations and dealing with disgruntled coworkers.  Read more.
