In conjunction with the White House United State of Women's Summit on June 14, 2016, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) released three resource documents that address the equal employment opportunity rights of women in the workplace:
- Equal Pay and the EEOC's Proposal to Collect Pay Data. This document briefly describes the proposal to revise the Employer Information Report (EEO-1) to collect pay data and explains a person's right to equal pay regardless of sex.
- Legal Rights for Pregnant Workers under Federal Law. This resource summarizes prohibited pregnancy-based discrimination, including the employee's right to an accommodation.
- Helping Patients Deal with Pregnancy-Related Conditions and Restrictions at Work. Directed towards health providers, this document explains a pregnant employee's accommodation rights and the health provider's role in obtaining the accommodation.
