Kauai Harley-Davidson Sued by EEOC for Retaliation

Published Friday, September 30, 2016 7:20 pm

On September 23, 2016, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a complaint against Aloha Auto Group, Ltd. for retaliation in violation of Title VII.  The complaint alleges that an employee was unlawfully terminated after advising other employees that they could file a complaint with the Human Resources Department or EEOC over management's comments that were purportedly racially discriminatory.  The General Manager of the Kauai Harley-Davidson dealership allegedly "made comments to the effect that the Asian American Pacific Islander culture was so laid back that these employees had no drive or ambition to work or to get things done."  The case has been assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Kevin S.C. Chang.
