The inaugural Apprenticeship Hawaii Week is being held on October 24 ? 29, 2016. The State Apprenticeship Council, Honolulu Community College, Apprenticeship and Training Coordinators Association of Hawaii, and apprenticeship sponsors are co-sponsoring the celebration. The weeklong celebration includes:
- Oct. 25 - Pathways to Apprenticeship Day at Honolulu Community College Oahu. High school and employment counselors are invited to learn about apprenticeship programs by touring Honolulu Community College's Apprenticeship programs as well as enjoying guided tours of Plumbing, Pipefitting, Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning, and the Electricians Apprenticeship Programs.
- Oct. 27 ? Construction Career Days for Adults at Aloha Stadium. Participants can experience first-hand what it's like to work on a construction site. They can operate heavy equipment and machinery, take a ride in a boom lift, test their skills on a crane simulator, and engage in all kinds of interactive activities and skill-building competitions.
- Oct. 27-28 ? 10th Annual Hawaii Construction Career Days at Aloha Stadium. High school and community college students are invited to learn more about careers in the fields of construction, engineering, and architecture. Participants also have the opportunity to operate heavy construction equipment and a crane simulator.
