In our latest installment of HEC TV, Mike Vasper, Senior HR Consultant at the Hawaii Employers Council, shares some valuable insight on how companies can host an enjoyable holiday party without running afoul of the law on issues such as religious discrimination, sexual harassment, workers' compensation, and serving of alcohol.  In this video, Mike discusses several issues that may be of concern to employers, and provides some guidance to help HR professionals avoid a legal hangover from their holiday parties.

As a Senior HR Consultant, Mike supports HEC members with HR best practices, compliance issues, sample documents and policies, and training programs on topics such as discrimination and harassment, ADA, performance management, and supervisory skills.

Mike joined HEC after gaining over 20 years of experience as an HR professional.  He has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, is a member of SHRM Hawaii, and has received his SPHR and SHRM-SCP designations.
