A form providing employees with information on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance marketplace is set to expire on May 31, 2017. The form, "New Health Insurance Marketplace Coverage Options and Your Health Coverage," was created by the Department of Labor's Employee Benefit Security Administration (EBSA) to provide written notice regarding health exchanges and any health insurance offered by covered employers.
EBSA has explained that employers should continue to use the existing form once it expires as there are no plans to issue an updated version. That said, it should also be noted that while covered employers are required to issue the form, there are no penalties for those that fail to do so.
