The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s EEO-1 annual survey is now open. The survey should be uploaded to the EEOC’s web-based filing system by private employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors or first-tier subcontractors with 50 or more employees and a contract of at least $50,000.
Employment data required in the EEO-1 report includes race/ethnicity, gender and job categories. Pay data need not be included after the Office of Management and Budget issued a stay last August regarding the collection and reporting of that information.
Employers who filed an EEO-1 report in 2016 should receive the 2017 EEO-1 Notification Letter on or before January 29, 2018. If a letter is not received, employers should contact the EEO-1 Joint Reporting Committee at 1-877-392-4647 (toll-free) or by emailing e1.techassistance@eeoc.gov. The annual notification letter will contain the company number that employers will need to login and upload their survey file on the EEOC website.
More information about the EEO-1 Survey, including reference documents such as the EEO-1 User’s Guide, a How To File an EEO-1 Report Guide, FAQs, and more may be accessed on EEOC’s survey website.
