We are nearing the end of session and the Hawaii state legislature just passed the Second Crossover deadline.  As we prepare to head into conference, several employment-related bills are still alive, including measures that affect the following areas of law:

• Paid family leave
• Paid sick and safe leave
• Pay secrecy and pay transparency
• Independent contractor definition for UI decisions
• Workers’ compensation IME’s
• Workers’ compensation presumption of compensability
