Higher Prevailing Wage Rates on the Horizon for Painters in Hawaii

Painters are set to receive higher prevailing wage rates for public construction work in 2019 pursuant to the State of Hawaii’s Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) Wage Rate Schedule Bulletin No. 492, published on June 11, 2018.  The WSR Bulletin No. 492 is an addendum to WSR Bulletin No. 491.

Beginning January 1, 2019, the prevailing wage for painters will be $67.74 (Basic Hourly Rate of $38.35 and Fringe Hourly Rate of $29.39).  On July 1, 2019, the prevailing wage for painters will increase to $68.44 (Basic Hourly Rate of $38.80 and Fringe Hourly Rate of $29.64).
