Three deadlines are coming up on September 30.
- VETS-4212: The Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (“VEVRAA”) requires covered federal contractors and subcontractors to report annually on their affirmative action efforts in employing veterans, by job category and hiring location. Contractors that must comply with VETS-4212 reporting requirements include those employers with federal contracts valued at $150,000 or more.
- The U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) encourages VETS-4212 reports to be filed electronically on the VETS-4212 website. Alternatively, reports may be submitted by email (contact.vets@dol.gov) or postal mail:

- EEO-1 Component 2 Compensation Data: Certain employers are required to submit employee compensation data to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”). For more information on who needs to file, how to file, and what to file, see HEC’s September Feature of the Month.
- Summary Annual Report (“SAR”): The SAR is a summary of the plan’s financial status as reported on the plan’s annual report (Form 5500). Administrators of retirement plans must send a SAR nine months after the end of the plan year. For most calendar year plans, September 30 is the deadline.
