OSHA Releases Annual Top 10 Most Cited Violations

To alert employers about commonly cited standards following worksite inspections, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) has identified the following categories as its 2019 top ten most frequently cited violations:

  1. Fall protection – General requirements
  2. Hazard communication
  3. Scaffolding
  4. Lockout/tagout
  5. Respiratory protection
  6. Ladders
  7. Powered industrial trucks
  8. Fall protection – Training requirements
  9. Machine Guarding
  10. Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment – Eye and Face Protection

Employers can use this information to find and fix recognized hazards now, and avoid a citation themselves.
