As HEC's treasurer and chief financial officer, Hazel is responsible for all aspects of financial management of the organization. Prior to joining the Council, Hazel was the Director of Finance & Accounting for Elite Family of Companies and its various operating entities, including Elite Parking Services. During her tenure, she oversaw the Company's finance, accounting, and reporting functions as it experienced rapid growth and expansion of its locations and workforce across the State.
Hazel is also licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Hawaii (not in public practice) and established an extensive background on corporate financial statement audits and taxation while previously employed at Fukuya Hasegawa Partners, CPAs. Her client industries included construction, real estate, manufacturing, professional services, retail, restaurants, law, parking management, IT, and non-profits.
She received both her Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting with Distinction degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa Shidler College of Business.
Hazel volunteers her time serving on the board of directors for Sacred Hearts Academy.
