The Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (“DLIR”) just issued updated wage rate and apprentice schedule bulletins, and will also be hosting a free workshop on Wages and Hours of Employees on Public Works.
Wage Rate and Apprentice Schedule Bulletins
The DLIR issued Wage Rate Schedule Bulletin No. 497 and Apprentice Schedule Bulletin No. 497, both effective February 17.
These schedules determine the applicable wage for each classification of workers and apprentices working on public construction projects for the purposes of Chapter 104 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. The wage rates in the Apprentice Schedule are applicable only to apprentices and contractors who are parties to an apprenticeship program that has been registered with the DLIR.
Contractors should adjust wages accordingly.
