Hawaii's August 8, 2020 primary is right around the corner, and employers no longer need to provide their employees with time off to vote.
Beginning with the upcoming primary, all Hawaii elections will be conducted by mail. HRS § 11-95, which had required employers to provide up to 2 hours of time off to vote, was repealed in the 2019 legislative session. Thus, employers no longer need to provide employees with time off on Election Day.
