HEC member companies share their vaccination and/or test policy

Over the past several months, state and county vaccination mandates and orders issued by the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, have subjected Hawaii’s employers to varying vaccination and/or testing mandates for their workforce and/or customers.

We recently surveyed Hawaii Employers Council members to determine how our member companies have responded to any of these mandates. Particularly, we were interested to know what member companies are doing on a mandatory vaccination and/or testing policy for their workforce.

A total of 158 member companies responded to this survey.

Here are some highlights from the survey:

  • 99 member companies reported at least 91% of their workforce fully vaccinated with 39 member companies reporting that at least 75% of their workforce fully vaccinated
  • 104 member companies are subject to one of the three federal vaccination mandates (i.e. Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, OSHA ETS, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)
  • 99 member companies have either a mandatory vaccination policy or a mandatory vaccination or testing policy for their workforce
