All Hawaii counties end COVID-19 emergency rules

Published Tuesday, March 1, 2022 2:00 pm

All four Hawaii counties have repealed or will sunset their respective COVID-19 emergency rules and restrictions.

Within the past two days, Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii counties lifted their COVID-19 restrictions immediately, while City & County of Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi announced that the Safe Access Oahu Program would end on March 5.

Governor David Ige's current COVID-19 emergency proclamation remains in effect through March 25 unless terminated earlier. As announced during a news conference earlier today, Governor Ige plans to allow the Safe Travel Hawaii program and state and city employees' vaccination or test mandate to end on March 25. At the same press conference, he provided no immediate indication of sunsetting or repealing the mask mandate sooner than March 25.
