The Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) announced the 2023 rates for Unemployment Insurance, Temporary Disability Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation that employers should know.
Unemployment Insurance (UI)
The DLIR UI division updated the UI Tax Rate Schedule and Weekly Benefit Amount table on its website to include the rates for 2023.

Disability Compensation Division (DCD)
The DCD oversees administration of Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI), Workers' Compensation (WC), and the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care law (PHC). On December 1, 2022, the DCD issued a summary of the 2023 Maximum Weekly Wage Base and Maximum Weekly Benefit Amounts for TDI, WC, and PHC.
Temporary Disability Insurance

Workers' Compensation
The 2023 Maximum Weekly Benefit Amount for WC is $1,090.00. For more information on WC in Hawaii, employers may visit the DLIR Disability Compensation Division’s webpage: About Workers’ Compensation. As a reminder, the DCD updated the WC-1 Form (Employer's Report of Industrial Injury) for any submissions effective July 1, 2022.
Prepaid Health Care
With the increase in Hawaii's minimum wage to $12.00 per hour effective October 1, 2022, the monthly minimum wage for coverage under PHC is now $1,041.00.
